Cyberport's "Knowledge in the New Age of
IT" Exhibition - Exhibition tailored for IT practitioners and college
students

Those who are interested in the IT development in the
next decade may get a preview at the "Knowledge in the New Age of
IT" exhibition organized by the Hong Kong's IT flagship, Cyberport,
on June 28 and 29. Cyberport is also open for visit by the public during
the two days.
At the exhibition, Cyberport tenants will share their
vision for the IT industry and an overview of the trends on the required
skills of the industry. They include Arctic Cooling, Centro Digital Media,
Compuware, DBtronix, ESRI (HK) China, Hong Kong Institute of High Performance
Computing, Noah, Outblaze, PCCW (e-business division), Rainbow Technologies
and The University of Hong Kong School of Professional And Continuing
Education (SPACE) . Le Meridien Cyberport, Cyberport's international five-star
hotel which is going to open by early 2004, will also join the exhibition
demonstrating their state-of-the-art facilities. In addition, for the
first time Cyberport will present their upcoming Digital Media Centre
and Wireless Solutions Development Centre at the exhibition.

to provide a world-class IT infrastructure and a campus-like environment
which encourage exchange and synergy among IT professionals and help nurture
professional talents for the industry. We are glad to see that our vision
for the Cyberport is supported by our tenants who demonstrate their commitment
through joint efforts such as this exhibition," said Mrs. Betty Fung,
Cyberport Coordinator.
The exhibition is part of a series of publicity programmes
organised by the Cyberport under the theme of "Discovering the New
Age of IT". The events were specially designed to mark the opening
of Phases I and II of the Cyberport and to increase awareness of Cyberport
among different target groups. Besides the "Knowledge in the New
Age of IT" exhibition, other promotional activities include an opening
ceremony to be officiated by the Secretary for Commerce, Industry and
Technology Mr Henry Tang Ying Yen, GBS, JP, a two-day IT seminars targeted
at IT professionals and students, a reception for public relations consultants
and conference organizers, a reception for the IT industry supported by
Invest Hong Kong and a half-day seminar co-organized with the University
of Hong Kong.
The "Knowledge in the New Age of IT" Exhibition
at the Cyberport will be open to the public free of charge between 11:00
am and 6:00 pm on Jun 28 and 29, 2003 (Saturday and Sunday). Free shuttle
bus, departing from Queen's Pier, Central at 10:30am, 1:00pm and 3:30pm
on both days, will be available to visitors on a first-come-first-serve
basis.
