Cyberport appoints Mr Nicholas
Yang as Chief Executive Officer

Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Ltd. (HKCMCL)
announced today the appointment of Mr Nicholas Yang as Chief Executive
Officer of the Company.
Mr Yang joined HKCMCL on 2 October and takes over from
Mrs Betty Fung, Cyberport Coordinator, as the executive head of the company.
Mrs Fung, a career civil servant on secondment to the company since October
2002, will return to a position in the HKSAR Government shortly.
"Cyberport is Hong Kong's IT flagship under the
Digital 21 Strategy. I am honored to take up the challenge to build Cyberport
as an international IT Centre and to develop Hong Kong as the leading
digital city in Asia" said Mr Yang.
Born in Taiwan in 1955, Mr Yang was educated in the USA.
After receiving his BSc degree in Electrical Engineering & Applied
Mathematics from California Institute of Technology, he obtained an MSc
in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from Stanford University in California.
Mr Yang has lived and worked in Hong Kong for the past 20 years. Before
joining HKCMCL, Mr Yang was Executive Director of Shell Electric Manufacturing
(Holdings) Ltd from 1983 to 1999, Vice President of JDS Uniphase Corporation
from 1999 to 2002 and a Senior Consultant with Warburg Pincus Asia LLC
since 2002. He has extensive experience in strategic planning, sales and
marketing and general management in the electronic and telecommunications
industries, which is most relevant to the management of Cyberport.
Mr John E Strickland, Chairman of HKCMCL, warmly welcomed
Mr Yang to the Company.

that given his background and extensive experience in the technology and
business fields, he will ensure that Cyberport attains its mission. The
Board of Directors looks forward to working with Mr Yang" Mr Strickland
said.
HKCMCL is wholly owned by the HKSAR Government. It is
responsible for the development, operation and management of the Cyberport
project, which comprises 100,000 sq m of grade A office space, a 27,000
sq m retail and entertainment complex and a 173-room five-star hotel.
These are being developed in phases and are scheduled for completion by
end 2004.
