SARS Survivors Visited Cyberport (29 Dec 2003)

Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs, Ms Shelley Lee
who's known for her dedication to support the community, brought the children
of families, who once contracted the disease, to Cyberport for a day of
sunshine and cyber activities. Dr Margaret Chan, relieving herself shortly
from her busy schedule in Switzerland with the World Health Organization,
made her way here with the children as well. Dr Fong Hong (Hospital Chief
Executive, Prince of Wales Hospital), Dr Leung Nai-Kong (Hon. Professor,
Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong) and his spouse Mrs Olivia
Leung also joined the visit.
The visitors were first shown an animation film sponsored
by Centro Digital Pictures Ltd., one of Cyberport's tenants, on the large
outdoor LED screen at CyberPlaza. The visitors were then guided to visit
The University of Hong Kong (Cyber. i) at Cyberport 1 and the Hong Kong
Wireless Development Centre (HKWDC) where the children tried out different
computer and wireless games. The last stop was the Visitor Centre where
the visitors fully enjoyed the 360 degree movie on the vision of Cyberport
and the navigators at Navigator Gallery. A sumptuous lunch was served
and the children brought home high-tech toys from the kind-hearted uncles
and aunties.
