Cyberport Took Part in CeBIT Asia (18 - 21 Sep,

Cyberport exhibited in CeBIT Asia which was held at the
Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Cyberport showcased its state-of-the-art
IT infrastructure and facilities to IT and telecoms companies from overseas
and the Mainland. Trade professionals were most welcome to visit the Cyberport
booth no. D34 at Hall 1 during 18 to 21 September, 2003.
Cyberport introduced the features of the project at CeBIT
Asia including:
ĦE 100,000 square metres Grade A intelligent office space
with state-of-the-art IT/telecoms facilities
ĦE A unique 27,000 square metres retail and entertainment complex - The
Arcade
ĦE A 5-star 173-room hotel - Le Meridien Cyberport
ĦE A deluxe residential development
Cyberport showcased its world-class IT and telecommunications
facilities at CeBIT Asia including: Cyberport's Internal Private Network
(IPN) - with a transmission rate of up to 10 Gbps (within campus) and
1 Gbps (external), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), 24 hours x 7 days
Network Operations Centre (NOC) and Central Data Exchange (CDX), Unified
Messaging System (UMS), full coverage of mobile phone networks, Webcasting
Services etc.
What's more, visitors were able to visualize a whole range
of shared business, exhibition, presentation and demonstration facilities
available at Cyberport's unique and innovative "IT Street".
Mrs Betty Fung, JP, Cyberport Coordinator said, "In
CeBIT Asia, Cyberport will elaborate its two new centres at "IT Street",
namely Digital Media Centre (DMC) and Hong Kong Wireless Development Centre
(HKWDC). The 2 centres aim at promoting the digital-media and wireless
and telecoms industries in Hong Kong as well as supporting small to medium
enterprises."
The DMC is equipped with a range of state-of-the-art facilities
targeted to aid animators, game developers, multimedia developers and
digital film and video producers. The Centre will provide critical technologies,
hardware and support to help facilitate growth in the industry.
The HKWDC will provide an open and neutral platform and
resources, that are not in alliance with any single mobile network operator
and vendor, for developers to develop and test their mobile and wireless
applications. The Centre will also provide up-to-date technical information
on the development, trends and standards of wireless technologies as well
as technical consultancy, business and promotion support to developers.
