St. Patrick

Hybrid Tea 4'

'Brandy' x 'Gold Medal'

30-35 Yellow petals tinged with green, 4-5" blooms. Light fragrance. Exhibition quality blooms.

WEKamanda : Strickland, 1996; AARS 1996

Large, exhibition quality blooms on a healthy bush will have any leprechaun chasing these golden blooms! 'St. Patrick' has high-centered, exhibition blooms that will carry a greenish tint in warmer weather. The blooms are borne on long stems and are very long lasting as cut flowers as well. Growth is healthy and strong with good repeat blooming.

This rose is an outstanding performer in hot, humid weather. The blooms keep coming and last very long in the vase. A good candidate for exhibition. The "chartreuse" greenish tints can make 'St. Patrick' difficult to blend in the garden, but it is a beauty in my opinion. A very healthy bush that shrugs off blackspot even if you do not spray regularly. Winter hardiness is a definite issue so good winter protection is necessary in zone 5.

'St. Patrick' is only the second rose hybridized by an amateur to win AARS honors.

ARS rating: 8.0
