Royal Highness

Hybrid Tea

'Virgo' x 'Peace'

Light pink classic form. Intense damask fragarance, 43 petals 5-5.5" blooms.

Swim & Weeks, 1962; AARS Winner 1963

If you are up to the challenge, then 'Royal Highness' may be right for you. This beauty has flawless blooms that are so very fragrant but it requires so much TLC. It is slow to establish and bloom. It does not tolerate shade or wet climates as it is prone to mildew. An upright and bushy grower, 'Royal Highness' has dark leathery and glossy foliage.

It blooms late into the season the bottom picture was taken of it blooming in late October while covered with an early snow. It is winter tender and good winter protection is necessary. Best grown as a greenhouse rose or in a large container that can be moved indoors.

ARS Rating: 7.7
