"A fireworks show in one rose" would be an accurate description of Rio Samba. The blazing yellow and bright orange blooms are an eye-catching display. Visitors never fail to comment on this rose.

The buds begin yellow, tipped in orange with more orange creeping through the blooms as they are exposed to the sun. The foliage is a medium green and glossy. The fragrance is light and pleasant. A regular spray program may be necessary to deter blackspot.

Rio Samba was a brilliant splash of color in my garden last year. No two blooms were the same. It bloomed quite readily and shrugged off blackspot with regular spray applications. If you are looking for an unusual rose, consider this one. The bright color contrast of its blooms stands out without being overpowering.
