Paradise

Hybrid Tea 4'

'Swarthmore' x 'Angel Face' seedling

Lavender blooms edged with red have exhibition from, 28 petals with moderate fruity fragrance

WEKzip: Weeks, 1978; AARS Winner 1979

Also known as: Burning Sky, and Passion

Very vigorous growth and beautiful blooms are the hallmarks of 'Paradise'. This one always seems to be in bloom. A great cut flower and exhibition rose, 'Paradise' has better color in heat, but the foliage can scorch if the plant is not kept well-watered. The edges have not had the characteristic reddish tint in the high heat this summer, but the color has been a lovely pale lavender.

A prolific bloomer and vigorous grower, 'Paradise' will also grow great on its own roots. Fragrance intensity varies with temperature but there is always at least some. The blooms are so eye-catching and a mature bush can be absolutely breathtaking when in full bloom.

ARS Rating: 7.5
