Moon Shadow

Hybrid Tea 4 1/2'

'Blue Ribbon' x Seedling

JACLAF : Warriner, 1998

Lavender color 5" blooms, borne in small clusters, are very double with intense fragrance and 26-40 petals. Upright, tall and bushy with semi-glossy foliage.

'Moon Shadow' has dusky lavender blooms with an intense "sweet pea" fragrance which is pure heaven. The blooms open quickly and rarely reach the 5" inch size. The lavender color fades to a dull washed out silvery color with age. Plant was slow to repeat bloom and is slow growing.

Blackspot is a problem, as it is for many roses in this color class, so don't let the spray program lapse. Winter protection. is advised as it is winter tender. Fragrance is so wonderful that it may be worth the extra effort, but there are other lavender roses that are more rewarding. 'Melody Parufmee' is a better choice in my opinion.

ARS Rating: 7.2
