Hybrid Tea 4' x 4' 'South Seas' x 'Kings Ransom' Apricot with hints of yellow and pink, 7-8" blooms with strong fruity fragrance, 25-35 petals. Light green foliage. 15" stems. Warriner, 1973; AARS Winner 1973 Huge yellowish-peach blooms that have a rich, sweet scent and are long lasting. Nice as a cut flower. Will have more pinkish tints in cooler weather while hot weather brings out the peachiest shades (which happen to be my personal favorite).Spraying for blackspot is a requirement. Reported to lack hardiness so winter protection is essential. The extremely large blooms open too quickly to exhibit and the weight of the blooms tend to nod over the stems. A nice garden subject nonetheless. Zones: 4 - 9 ARS Rating: 6.6 |
