Gemini

Hybrid Tea 5'
'Ann Morrow Lindbergh' x 'New Year'
JACnepal: Zary,
2000
The name 'Gemini' which means twins is
an obvious choice for this rose which
bears blooms of two colors. The cream and
pink buds unfurl into graceful, refined
blooms that contain a pleasing, though
slight fragrance. A vigorous and healthy
bush, 'Gemini' was somewhat slow to
establish in my garden. It was after the
first season that this plant truly
delivered a performance worthy of the AARS
honors it received in 2000. Exhibitors
will be rewarded for their patience.
The coral-pink tones appear soft and
glowing in cool weather blending gently
into the cream color. Hot weather makes
the color contrasts brighter and more
sharply defined.

Stems are long and strong on this rose. The cut
flowers last well making this an excellent choice
for your arrangements. A bouquet consisting
entirely of this rose is so breathtakingly elegant
that it will convince your friends that you must be
a florist.
No disease problems have been observed with a
minimal spray program. It seems to have decent
winter hardiness as well. This rose is now offered
commercially as an own-root variety and this will
probably improve its first season performance.
