One of the highest rated roses according to the American Rose Society, 'Double Delight' is a favorite rose all over the world. First, it should be noted that fragrance is absolutely fabulous. I can catch a whiff of one of these blooms from several feet away. My son calls it the "soap" rose because the scent reminds him of the fancy perfumed soaps I tell him not to use in our bathroom. The reddish-pink color quickly overtakes the creamy white portion with exposure to sunlight. Best color is found when days are warm and nights are cool. 'Double Delight' grows to a moderate height, becoming wide and bushy instead of tall and V-shaped like most hybrid teas.

'Double Delight' is the only rose I've grown that has ever fallen victim to powdery mildew. It also seems to have an adverse reaction to the fungicide Daconil. The leaves get dark blotches or streaks and the edges curl as though burned after an application of this fungicide.

This rose remains one of my favorite for cutting because of its fragrance and lasting ability. Highly recommended for all growers!
