Cotillion

Floribunda 3 1/2'

Seedling x 'Shocking Blue'

JACSHOK : Zary, 1999

Light lavender intensely sweet fragrance, 41 petals, 4" rosette blooms in large clusters.

'Cotillion' has an old-fashioned look like the David Austin roses but stays a respectable size. It will not become a huge, overgrown "problem" bush. 'Cotillion' gets my vote as a fabulous bloom machine. In its second season in my garden, it covered itself in blooms all season. It now rivals 'Lady of the Dawn' as my preferred landscape choice. It stays a nice rounded shape at a maximum height of 3 1/2' and is perfect for planting along a sidewalk or near the front of your garden bed.

'Cotillion' blooms in such large clusters that with two snips you will have cut a vase full of flowers. The blooms open to a pale lavender with a deeper lilac-pink center. Fragrance is delightfully sweet with hints of lemon. Some blackspot appeared but was not very severe. An occasional shot of fungicide should keep this plant totally clean.

ARS Rating: 7.1
