Hybrid Tea 5 1/2' Dark, bright red 4 - 4 1/2" blooms with subtle sweet fragrance. 30 petals on 24-28" stems. Glossy dark green foliage. TANKALCIG : Tantau, 1997 Velvety (and I really do mean that it looks like velvet), deep dark red with hints of black, this rose gets close to the much sought for "black" rose. Elegant form, thick petal substance, and long stems make this an excellent cut flower. It is also very floriferous. The fragrance is soft and sweet. A tall grower, 'Black Magic' immediately brings to mind a perfect long-stemmed florist rose on Valentine's Day. A wonderful rose to enjoy in your garden and in bouquets. I am very impressed by the vigorous growth and the abundance of blooms that 'Black Magic' is producing in its first season in my garden. Blackspot has not been a problem at all. Blooms may be a bit small for exhibition, but I think it is a fabulous rose. ARS Rating: 7.8 |
