Frequently Asked Questions about the 'Censored' Version |

A few words from Kaiser:

So you want to know what you're missing, eh?
Overall, FoxKids likes to cut out all the slow dramatic parts ( i.e., dialogue ).
Why does Fox put in so many commercials?
Beats me, but I'd venture a guess that they are greedy corporate scum so they cut more Cybersix to put in more commericals. ;-)
If Fox cut the dramatic story parts of Cybersix, why'd they cut the fighting scenes too?
Fox gears this show to young kids but the program was intended to be enjoyed by all. Teletoon recognizes this, airing the show in primetime alongside cartoons like The Simpsons because older people do enjoy this beautifully animated series.
How come Fox can cut up a show like Cybersix so badly?
Telecom who owns the rights to Cybersix must deal with Saban to try to get the cartoon aired in the U.S. But in order for Cybersix to be shown to the U.S., Telecom had to concede some rights to Saban, like the right to alter the show. Saban is owned by Fox... so we all know what happens next...
Why do you keep bashing Fox?
I don't know, Fox just sucks in my mind.

Now, for the American Cybersix fans, you're in luck because a cool dedicated Cybersix fan is doing a step-by-step analysis of differences between the original episodes and the Fox-hacked ones. You'll get a greater understanding until Telecom hopefully decides to release the uncut English version on VHS/DVD. French tapes are already available, while the Cybersix comic books (on which the animated series is based) are only available in French or Spanish so far.[Update: uncut English videos are now available! – See the News page.]
Anyway, without further ado, here is GALVATRON with his (in my mind) outstanding editorial and descriptions. You can reach him at the Voices in Animation message boards or view his original posts here. |
