I'm
the newest member of the family!
I was rescued from Martinsburg Shelter
on December 2, 2002.
Tigger & Peaches told me they got their own web pages.
Meowmie, can I have one too?
Oh, I can?
Come on guys, help me with my page
since you're 'ol hands at
this kind of thing.
Besides I'm the only lady in the group so you guys
have to act like gentlemen and help me.

Grandma
had a kitty named Nickie. He
passed away.
Grandma
said his brother Dude was walking around the house crying and looking
for Nickie and she didn't want him to be alone so ..........
Dude's got a new brother, Tucker
(Tucker's
picture and his web page are coming soon)
And
of course Meowmie can't go to the pound and walk out empty
handed! So I was the lucky kitty to find a new forever
home.
Meowmie
wanted all the kitties there, but Grandmother said to leave
some for other people!
|
Tucker
and I came home from the shelter together.
I
hope Grandma moves in with us soon so I can live with Tuck
too! |

|
|
|
|
|
I
know Tigger & Peaches probably already told you this,
|
|
|
but
I wanted to mention it too.
This
is Sweet
cousin Nickie who passed away on November
15, 2002 of Jaundice (Hepatitis)
He
was only 1 & 1/2 years old.
|
|
He
was loved and will be sorely missed by everyone in our family.
|
Rest
in Peace sweet Nickie. |
|
|
|
|
=============================================================
I
never really knew Nickie, but his brother Dude told me all
about him
and I wish I could have gotten to know
him.
Everyone
loved him so. Tucker has some big paws to fill. |

My life is
clouded in mystery.
I came from the shelter,
I'm 2 to 3 years old
and
nobody knows where I was before that.
I'm
a lady of mystery!
I know, but I'm not
telling! I give hints every now and again,
but the
my humans have to do
a lot of guessing.
When
Grandma wanted another
kitty, my new Mommy
took her to the shelter.
There I was just sleeping
and I guess I looked so sweet
that Mommy couldn't help
herself.
Mommy
said since I was an older kitty and didn't frolic around
like
a kitten the chances weren't good that I'd be adopted.
I can't believe nobody
would see my potential!
Tigger
& Peaches were raised from tiny kittens and Mommy wanted
to
give an older kitty a chance to have a good home.
|
Here's a
picture of my own sweet self |
|
|
|
I
most always have my eyes closed.
Mommy
is taking me back to the vet to look at them.
She
says the inner eyelid is not opening all the way so I have trouble
seeing clearly.
The
dog had that too in one eye and a few drops of medicine cleared it right up.
|
|
I
made myself right at home! I
marked off the guest room just for me! |
|
My name was already Bailey. Mommy says it really doesn't fit
me.
She would like something like Lady or Missy since I'm so
delicate and ladylike, but since I'm older and have had that name for a
while
she doesn't want to change it and confuse me.
|
Here's 3
more pictures of me walking around with my eye closed.
Mommy can't figure out how I do it! |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Mommy
says if I walk around with my eyes closed
I
should sleep with them open!
|
|
|
|
Well
I've been to the Vet. It seems I have "High Blood
Pressure Retinal Damage". I'm seeing a specialist
in January, but Mommy is afraid I might go blind.
That's OK Mommy, I can still roll over for those blissful
tummmmmie Ruuuuubs!
 |
The
Vet also said that high blood pressure in cats can't be successfully
treated. I've got to enjoy every minute I have
so.......rub that belly! |
|
|
I've got another
appointment with the vet on January 4 and Meowmie says I may
have to see a specialist. I'll keep you posted as to
what the outcome is.
Update
1/12/03 ~
Well
the Vet said that my eyes are responding to light and they
didn't before so now he's not sure what's wrong with
them. I still have to see the specialist, but that
won't be until next month. I'll keep you posted.
Update
8/19/04 ~
Really, really good news! Once I got over the flu I
had when I first came here my eyes started getting better
little by little. Now they're just fine. The Vet
still doesn't know how that happened!
I think it's all this good food and loving'!
|
|
|
|
My new big brother Tigger wasn't so
nice at first. He hissed at me and wouldn't have anything to do with
me, but I think he knows there's something wrong with my eyes and he
decided not to be mean. Now he's stopped hissing, but he's not to
the cuddling stage yet. I'm working on it though.
Peaches
ran right up to me when I was just coming out of my carry case and tried
to rub noses. Really! So forward! But I got over it and
realized Peaches was the little brother for so long that he's happy to be
my big brother now. I don't think he realizes that I'm probably older than
him, but I won't tell.
After all a lady never tells her age!

|
I think I like this place. I get tuna and chicken and beef, and
fish and treats (yum!) and petting every day, I have lots of toys, and sleep
on a soft bed with Mommy and Daddy. I especially like laying on
Daddy's head in the morning.
He wakes up with the funniest
look on his face.
|
These humans are pushovers for a sweet
face and a little purring.
I think I can bend them to my will in no
time!
==================================================== |
 |
| I was already spayed so that's taken
care of. Good thing too. After all I'm living in a house full
of boys! |
 |
Mommy and Daddy are making sure I get all of my
shots and taking me
to the vet for all my health problems. I guess I really am thankful for all of these things,
and I know I fell into a good home.
|
Mommy and Daddy are the best parents a
cat could have. Lucky me!
(OK, I said it, now where are the
treats???)
I
learned that from Peaches.
Letting him rub noses is already
starting to pay off!
|
|
When I'm feeling better I want to play with my adopted brothers, and be
the best sister I can to them. I'm such a sweetie that I will be
able to not only wrap the humans around my paw, I can do the same to these
big boys too!
====================================================
Tigger & Peaches have been chasing
mice for the last couple of days.
Mommy says that with all the really
cold weather we've been having the
field mice are finding their way into
the house.
She always gets them away from the
guys and lets them back outside.
Boy, does that tick the guys off!
After all that hard
work the reward is snatched away from them!
I'm with Mommy though.
I guess you can't expect anything
better
 |
from a couple of male cats!
Us ladies are more refined.
|
|
Other things I really like are sleeping, food, treats and sleeping.
You want to take a nap, I'm your kitty!
Peaches let me curl up with him and
take a nap yesterday so I guess we're well on the way to being best
buddies.
|
|
News
Flash! My winning ways are starting to work on Tigger!
Here
we are napping on the bed together. Meowmie really wants to
make the bed, but she wouldn't think of disturbing us. |
|
|
|
Well,
that's pretty much all I have to say right now--
I'll be back again when I've been here
longer and have more stories to tell.
I'd like to be the gossip columnist
for this group
and keep you filled in on what the guys are up to..
Oh, and don't believe a thing Tigger & Peaches say about me.
They're
just jealous because I'm getting all the attention right now.
Gotta
milk it for all it's worth before I'm just one of the kids.
