| February, 2002 Attendees: Andy Green, Gary Proud, Rick Massimei, Jim Griffin, Robbie Robison, Pete Jackson, Carol Gneiser, Doug Vilas, Bob Lippy 1. Old Business - Club Championship � 115 players. a. Pace of play was slower than a normal round on Saturday but this was due to everybody putting out and the championship atmosphere. Overall the pace of play was approximately 4 � hours per round. b. Overall Champions Matt Jackson � Men, Pete Jackson � Senior, Carol Gneiser � Women. c. They may possibly add a senior women�s division next year if there is enough interest. d. They will continue to pay gross and net in each flight for the club championship. - Buyer�s Club � Letter went out and there has been a good response. - They are increasing the number of rakes in the bunkers. - Green Jacket Tournament scheduled for weekend of Master�s Tournament (April 12th and 13th). a. Format is two person best ball net score(using 80% of handicap) combined with gross score from player who is playing in the Master�s. Each two-person team will draw the name of a player who made the cut in the Master�s and you will use his gross score with your net score for two days. b. Price is $20.00 per person. c. Master�s prizes plus sweeps will be paid out. d. Pro shop will make pairings. e. Tournament will be flighted by combined team net score. - Saturday morning pro shop game is doing well. If you know of someone who is not in a group and wants to play on Saturday morning have them sign up in the pro-shop for this game. 2. New Business/Upcoming Events - Tampa Bay Society Challenge will begin in May or June. - Men�s Night will begin 5:30PM on Tuesdayy, April 15th - Ladies Play Night will begin 5:45PM on WWednesday, April 16th - Men�s Member Guest Applications have been mailed out 3. Upcoming Events - 4/6 WGA Spring Couples � 1PM Sunday - 4/12 & 4/13 Green Jacket Tournament � 8::30AM Shotgun - 4/15 Men�s Night begins - 4/16 Ladies Play Night begins - 4/24 WGA Championship � 1st round - 4/25 Member Night Golf � Friday Night - 5/1, 5/2 & 5/3 Men�s Member Guest 4. Greens report - Pencil tyne punch to greens Monday 3/17 with light top-dress - Transition going well, Bermuda grass is thriving due to warm temps - WE NEED EVERYONE�S HELP repairing ball marks on the greens, repairing divots in the fairway, and picking up broken tees on the tees (they are bad for the mowers). Please ask members in your group to help with these items when you are playing. THANK YOU!!! - A new sand pit will be placed around the starter shack or driving range so you can fill your sand buckets up before you go out to play - They will start removing excess sand in the bunkers - WE NEED YOUR HELP with ball marks on the greens. While you are waiting to putt please take time to fix ball marks. - They will issue keys to the rest rooms aand the rest rooms will be locked. Hopefully this will cut down on vandalism Next scheduled meeting is Thursday, April 17th. ***** It has been noted that members are driving their carts near the greens. Please keep your carts on the cart paths near the greens. Try to remind your fellow golfers that they shouldn't be driving the carts up to the greens. |
