NOE FAMILY


First Generation

Pierre NOE (Nuee), a Huguenot, born about 1645/6 Poitou, France. Came from Pays de Vaud (Walslant). He married 24 Jul 1660 French Church, Mannheim, Germany to Marguerite du Mont.

He may have been the Pierre Noe who with his wife and infant child came to Staten Island, NY in April 1663 on the ship De Bonte Koe (the Spotted Cow). They must have returned to Germany as additional children were baptized there in 1670 and 1673.

They settled in Elizabeth Town, NJ circa 1695. Pierre made his will 16 Dec 1709 at Elizabeth Town which was proved 28 Apr 1710. His will names only children Mary and John. His wife and several other children must have preceeded him in death.

Second Generation

The children of Pierre Noe and Marguerite du Mont included:

1. Marguerite Nue born 1 May 1661; baptized 5 May 1661 French Church, Mannheim, Germany.

2. Pierre (Peter) Nue born 3 Jun 1662; baptized 8 Jun 1662 French Church, Mannheim, Germany.

3. Marie (Mary) Noe born 4 Jul 1670, baptized 10 Jul 1670 French Church, Mannheim, Germany; married circa 1689 New York City to John TREMBLE(Y).

4. Elizabeth Nuee born 16 Jul 1673; baptized 20 Jul 1673 French Church, Mannheim, Germany.

5. Jean (John) NOE born circa 1674 possibly in Kingston, Ulster, NY. His will was made 23 Apr 1751 Woodbridge, Middlesex, NJ and was proved 30 Dec 1751. He married 2 Dec 1694 L'Eglise Francoise a la Nouvelle York (French Church of NY) New York City to Elizabeth Damaris GIRARD born circa 1669.

Third Generation

The children of John Noe and Elizabeth Girard included:

1. Marguerite NOE born 19 Sep 1695; baptized 22 Sep 1695 L'Eglise Francoise a la Nouvelle York; married about 1716 to Mr. ALWAYS.

2. Peter NOE born about 1698 Middlesex, NJ; married to Sarah ANDREWS. Their children were John who married Catharine Tremble and Damaris who married Thomas Johnson.

3. Magdalene NOE born about 1700 Middlesex, NJ; married about 1721 to Mr. TOOKER or TUCKER.

4. John NOE born about 1703 Middlesex, NJ, died 1759; married about 1729 to Hannah FORCE.

5. Daniel NOE born about 1703 Middlesex, NJ; married to Sarah HODGSON and Mary MOOR.

6. Isaac NOE born about 1707 Middlesex, NJ, died 2 Apr 1777, Rahway, Union, NJ; married Sarah Clark MARSH (1712-1777). Their children were Elias, Marsh, Isaac, Jacob, Daniel, Susannah, Abraham, Samuel and John Noe.

7. Damaris NOE married about 1736 to John MARSH.

8. Susannah NOE born about 1715 Middlesex, NJ.


Fourth Generation

The daughters of John Noe and Hannah Force included:

(1) Charity NOE born about 1729 Middlesex, NJ, married 1750 to George BADGLEY (1726-1794).

(2) Elizabeth NOE born 17 Oct 1731 Middlesex, NJ.
