DAVIS FAMILY
George DAVIS was born 1750-60 probably in NC. He is first found in the 1792 tax list of Nelson Co., KY. He moved by 1796 to Bullit Co., KY. In 1808 he received 210 acres in Bullit Co. from Giles Davis who is believed to have been his brother. In 1809, George received a land grant in Somers Twp., Preble Co., OH and appears on the 1811 Preble Co. tax list with Giles Davis.
He served in the Army during the War of 1812 in Capt. Silas Fleming's Co., Ohio Militia. He enlisted 30 Aug 1812 and was discharged 28 Feb 1813.
In 1820 he received an additional Congressional land grant in Somers Twp. as an assignee of Giles Davis.
He married first to an unknown woman and second 2 Mar 1801 Nelson Co., KY to Sarah WILKERSON, the daughter of George Wilkerson.
George and Sally continued to reside in Preble Co. until George's death in Mar 1832 or 1833.
(1) Aaron DAVIS born 1780-90 and died by 1830. He may have been the Aaron Davis with a marriage bond dated 11 Apr 1805 in Bullit Co., KY to marry Hannah DAVIS. He married next to Elizabeth ---- who was named as his widow in 1832 and named guardian of his six sons: Daniel, Aaron, Moses, Amos, Luther and Doctor Scott Davis.
(2) Rachel DAVIS was born circa 1787 in KY. She married 26 Sep 1813 in Preble Co., OH to Bartholomew DAVIS who died about 1835 in Indiana.
(3) Bartley DAVIS was born 1794 in KY and died 20 Oct 1859 Needham Twp., Johnson Co., IN and is buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. He married 16 May 1813 in Preble Co., OH to Abigail Mildred RAKESTRAW (1796-1882).
(4) Stephen DAVIS was born 1795-1804. His wife was named Lydia and/or Hannah ----.
(5) Dison DAVIS was born 1805 KY. He resided in Gratis Twp., Preble Co., OH where he was a carpenter. He died 20 Nov 1883 Preble Co., OH. He married 2 Oct 1828 also in Preble Co. to Elizabeth DAVIS.
(6) Moses DAVIS died before 1835. He married 22 Jn 1830 Preble Co., OH to Sarah CAIN.
(7) Elizabeth DAVIS died before 1830. She was married to James MAXWELL.
(1) Male DAVIS. died before 1843.
(2) John M. DAVIS born 1815-7 Ohio. He married 1 Sept 1836 Preble Co., OH to Frances "Fanny" Davis.
(3) Sarah Ann DAVIS born 1822. She married 13 Jan 1838 Preble Co., OH to Gainshaw NELSON. They resided in Camden, OH.
(4) Rebecca Ann DAVIS born 1823. She married 24 Apr 1842 Preble Co., OH to Edmund LOCK.
(5) Urias Riley DAVIS was born 8 Dec 1825 OH and died 10 Dec 1897 in Shelby Co., IN. He married first to Sarah ----, next 1 Apr 1856 to Rebecca Ann MURPHY from whom he was divorced; third on 21 Sept 1861 to Mary C. SPEAGLE (1839-1875), the daughter of John M. Speagle. He married lastly on 21 Feb 1878 Shelby Co., IL to Eliza Ann MILFORD.
(6) Stephen B. DAVIS< was born circa 1829 in OH. He married 26 Dec 1850 Preble Co., OH to Margaret A. PATTERSON.
(7) Abigail Ann DAVIS was born 1831/2 in Ohio. She married 22 May 1853 Preble Co., OH to Elias G. VICKERS.
(8) Hannah Elizabeth DAVIS born 1834/6 Ohio. She married to Watson C. HOWARD.
(9) George Graham DAVIS was born 1838 in OH and resided with his mother in 1850, 1860 Johnson Co., IN. He married 12 Feb 1860 Johnson Co., IN to Mary J. KING.
(10) Rachel Euphenia DAVIS was born 1841 in OH. She married to John ROBERTS.
(1) Susannah DAVIS born circa 1848 Ohio.

(3) Mary Etta DAVIS born 9 Jul 1866 Indiana.
(4) Susan DAVIS born 11 Apr 1868 IN, died 10 Mar 1953 Riverside, Riverside Co., CA. She married 23 Dec 1891 Madison, Jefferson Co., IN to William Alfred DONAT (1865-1945). They are both buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Riverside, CA.
(5) John B. DAVIS born 1870 Indiana.

(7) Alice DAVIS born 5 Aug 1880 and died in 1967.
(8) Frank Elmor DAVIS born 6 Feb 1885.
(9) Fred Tuisley DAVIS born 17 Sep 1887 and died 17 Sep 1887.
(10) Thomas C. DAVIS was born 19 May 1882. Said to have been an evangelistic preacher in Indianapolis..
(1) Alfred Schofield DONAT (1897- ). He married 25 Jun 1922 in Portland, OR to Dorothea J. BUTTOLPH (1899-1977).
(2) Ruth DONAT was born 6 Oct 1800 Madison, Jefferson Co., IN. She died in 1994. Her husband was Arza Omer WHEATLEY to whom she married on 3 Jul 1920 Madison, Jefferson Co., IN.
