Rumors have been running wild the past few months on the status of Championship Wrestling Association. Internet reporters are claiming that Senior Executive Marc Christopher has filied bankruptcy and closed the doors of CWA. Well we went straight to an inside source former Commissioner Robert Sherman to see if he had heard anything on the status of CWA. Here is what Mr. Sherman repoted.
"The last time I spoke to Marc was back it late January after the meeting that was held to discuss the previous months show. At that time he had informed me he was releasing me of my Commissioner duties."
-Then asked about his current position with CWA-
"Like I said I havn't heard from Marc in bout 4 months. Havn't seen any type of pay checks or any of that. I would like to say that Marc and I left on good terms but then again I don't know. I spoke with a few of the past wrestlers who informed me they were released in February as well. Cheezy E, The Lone Wolf, Asylum, The Flying Tigers to name a few."
He later went on to speak of a Buyout offer that Marc offered to him in December at the meeting before the show on the 9th. He turned down the offer to purchase and said he was not interested.
Now from my standpoint as Webmaster I think with the several releases that have taken place over the past months and an apparent Bankruptcy by the Senior Executive Marc Christopher it looks to me like CWA maybe victim of the Y2K. |
