About Processors...

Hi, can your computer performs the tasks like burning a CD, Playing a 3D game, Listening to music in media player etc......, simultaneously without any trouble ???

Probably you say NO!!!

The reason is...

Processors available now cannot perform these operations simultaneously because their speed is limited. Even the latest processor like Pentium 4 also may not do well if we perform these type of tasks simultaneously....

According to Moore's Law the processor's speed doubles for every 18 Months. This happened accordingly till now. But now it lost its sinificance as the speed of a processor may not increase further.

As the no.of transistors in the procesor increases the speed increases. Till now leading companies like INTEL, AMD etc, increased their processors' speed by decreasing transistors' size and increasing their number. But further decreasing the size of the transistors may result in generating excess heat and further processor may even burn!!!
