Mexican Day of the Dead Celebration

Vespers on Wednesday, October 29, 7 to 7:30 PM, will be a Mexican Day of the Dead Celebration. You are invited to come dressed as your favorite dead person. Things to bring are pictures of your ancestors and new babies; an apple, a pomegranate or other Fall fruit or a small pumpkin, a gourd or dried corn; orange & yellow flowers; decorations such as small plastic skeletons, skulls, etc. All ages are invited. This is a good event to bring kids who can't sit still to - we'll be moving around a lot. The Day of the Dead is a celebration of the lives of those who have died and of the continuation of life that is in our children. This Mexican tradition has its roots in the ancient Aztec civilization. The people did not fear death because they believed that the spirit continued on and lived in the underworld.
