My video production experiences have largely been independent in nature. I discovered video in my pre-teen years through the use of a family member's camcorder. Later I purchased my own camera and wore out my family's VCR by using it for editing! For three years during high school I shot and edited weddings for a local company, where I was trained in video production and received great insight into running a business. In college, I realized my love for editing when I was initially given the chance to edit on a computer! Many of our classes discussed how digital technology was becoming more affordable and therefore universal � giving total independence to established filmmakers and newcomers. I took this revolution to heart even though I did not fully apply it to myself until a few years later.
By 2004, I needed Reality Check. I desired more out of life in my career. I could not find promising video production work in the Philadelphia area and I did not want to move to another area.
Over time I saved and purchased my own editing equipment for fun projects. This idea evolved into starting a video business. The time was right. Computers were evolving substantially and changing the video industry along with it. By then, most video companies were editing on a computer instead of tape machines that cost ten times as much a decade earlier.
Yes, technology is now so affordable that everyone can cut video on a laptop. However, many don't have the background necessary to consistently create an engaging motion picture. Knowledge, experience, and skills are priceless and earned. It is rare to find a person who is both a solid videographer and editor. I can exceed your expectations.
Besides editing for other wedding videography businesses who trust me with their own footage, I also now offer wedding videography through my own business utilizing my own unique techniques and skills.
