| Clothing Drops like the one in the photo are above are everywhere! Donate your old clothing to someone in need. Other things like toys, books, and home appliances can be donated as well where proper facilities exist, usually at used items retail stores. Public clothing drops are often located in store parking lots and occasionally at highway rest areas. |
| How often do you reuse random items otherwise on their way out the door on garbage collection day? That old sweater with a hole in it, or shoes that don't fit, but they are still in decent shape. Do you question whether or not you want to throw some things way? There is a good chance that if you are able to question the value of something, it would still be of use to someone else. That someone else may be a homeless person in your community, or a less fortunate person in a third world country. That someone else could even be an animal in your back yard. |

| Birdfeeders and houses can be made with scrap wood you might have laying around the garage or shed. (photo above) Another great way to make a happy friend is to use juice cartons to make your feeders. (photo below) An upside down garbage can lid, or something similar, will make a great birdbath. Early spring is the best time to start your feeders and houses as birds will be looking for places to take up residency for nesting. Food, shelter, and water are something you can provide.
