Flat Stanley in Peru |
Ashlee introduced us to Stanley last summer, and he came to visit for a couple of weeks. He was so much fun that we asked if he wanted to go to Peru with us. Ashlee said that he did, so we packed him in my camera bag and off we went. Here are some of his adventures in Peru. |

We arrived in the airport in Lima, Peru (the capital), with four suitcases that each weighed 49.5 pounds, one carry-on bag that weighed 28 pounds and another that was 24 pounds, a laptop bag that weighed 22 pounds (where Stanley is sitting), and a big red purse with another 18 pounds. How many pounds of baggage were we carrying? |

We flew from Lima to Juliaca, and Marleny's family picked us up at the airport in a friend's minivan. After I stopped and got a hat we drove to Puno, about half an hour away. We were in Puno for the Fiesta de la Candelaria, a big Catholic celebration of Puno's patron the Virgin de la Candelaria (Virgin Mary of the Candelabra). Marleny and I had promised to host the biggest day of the celebration, the last day, called the Cacharpari. |
