Virginia is the herione of this story, although she doesn't realize that until the end. She is unconfident of herself, is very guarded against love, and secretly angry at her mother for leaving her when she was little. However, she is also very kind and giving.Virginia lives in an apartment at the edge of Central Park and works at the Grill on the Green.
Tony is the idiot of the group. He is constantly running into things or breaking things. He is a sarcastic man who gives a nice commentary about how riduculous the 9 kingdoms are. He is the only one in the group who can understand Wendell as a dog, and so he is Wendell's manservant. Tony was once in the bouncing buisness(those inflatable bouncing things) but lost his money so now works as a janitor under a very mean boss(who ends up polishing Tony's shoes with his tongue!) Also his wife Christine left him whne Virginia was about 7.
From the moment he lays eyes on Virginia he is in love and since he is a half wolf and wolves mate for life he won't give up until he gets her. He proves his love several times by rescuing her. Wolf is a funny fellow whose over dramatic lover's talking adds comic rellief to the story. His parents were burned when he was young and so he has a general dislike for farmers. Once a month when the moon is full, he becomes crampy and irritable until he can let his wolf side out. wolf is the expert of the group because he lives in the nine kingdoms, and knows every fairytale.
At the beggining of the story Wendell is a selfish uncaring monarch, however after his time as a dog he is really humbled and becomes a wise ruler. He is obviously upset at being turned into a dog and even more grouchy that his manservant won't spend every waking moment thinking about his needs. So Wendell often adds to the story by throwing in a few rude remarks and some times refusing to cooperate! The evil queen first poisoned his mother, then after marrying the King posioned him. Wendell was next but luckily she was thrown in prision. Wendell is king of the 4th kingdom, since he is the grandson of Snow White.
Before she was the evil queen, Christine lived in New York city, was married to Tony Lewis, and had a daughter named Virginia. After an incident where she almost drowned Virginia, she ran off into central park crying. On that very night the voice of the first evil queen calle dto her and told her that if she came into the mirror she would have everything she desired. So under the guidance of the evil queen, Christine became her sucessor and tried to finish off her work of killing the House of White and ruling all the kingdoms.
Relish the troll king is the ruler of the trolls, and leads them in being filthy, disgusting, and rude. He is the father of Burly, Blabberwort, and Bluebell(who aren't as cunning as he is). He and his children love shoes and torturing innocent victims. Unfortunately he let's the queen out and when he refuses to help her she muders him by telling him to meet her in the apple orchard for a talk, and then poisons the apples because she knows he will eat an apple. His head is cut off and waved around by the imposter prince.
Cinderella is Wendell's toughest critic at his coronation, and also the oldest. She is rumored to be over 200 years old, and has had a few plastic surgeries.
Even though Snow White is dead she still mananges to protect Virginia from the mirrors of the queen. She appears once as an old beggar women, as a small child, and also in her true form to guide Virginia on her journey and help her with her inner struggle as well.
