This is the flyer for our group CUUPS ritual for Beltane. This was my first public ritual after doing everything solitary. It was so much fun I decided to dedicate a whole page to it. Around 30 people attended and we smudged everyone as they entered. It rained all day up until we started the ritual, one of the guys went out and asked Thor to leave the thunder and lightning but take the rain :). We had a male and female call each corner for balance. East invoked Pan, South which we did, invoked Aphrodite, West invoked Bacchus, and North invoked Hecate and Freya. The invocations were very strong except for everyone kept saying East instead of their direction and none of us had every had that problem before. After the circle was cast, Robert looked up and everyone's gaze followed. No one said anything and there was a perfect pentagram in the Eastern sky. I couldn't believe it at first. The clouds were swirling around it. After a minute or two it vanished. At that moment I felt as if I was doing something right. There was so much positive energy that I was high the rest of the night and when I came down I slept 14hrs. The maypole was awesome. It was around 20ft with 16 yellow, purple, green, and blue ribbons. We had a wreath of fresh flowers and deer antlers on the top. You can tell by the pictures that everyone was having fun. When the maypole was wrapped, we did a spiral dance around it and danced to Loreena. Then we did a balance meditation and made a herbal satchet of around 20 different herbs each representing different aspects of balance and different elementals. To ground we had strawberry shortcake and may wine made with woodruff. We also had some homeade grape wine. Yummy. We closed the circle and everyone jumped over a cauldron to symbolize the bel-fire. I couldn't have asked for anything more.
