The Purchase
It all started around three years ago when I was in the market for a new car, I had been looking at the Ford Puma, Hyundai Coupe and the SEAT Cordoba SX. I found the Puma to be lacking space in the back and the Hyundai slightly out of my price range at the time.
The Cordoba I had been looking at had been sold when I went to have a second look, so I asked the salesman what else they had, he explained to me that SEAT had just released the new Ibiza Cupra which was a 1.8 20 valve turbo, I liked the sound of that and I loved the look of the car inside and out. After we had a bit of a chat it turned out this again was slightly out of my price range.
As I sat there in the Nissan garage next to the SEAT showroom, I asked if they had any Ibiza Cupra Sports in for sale and was told they had a red one and a copper one that had been brought in that morning. I went to look at the red one, it had 17" alloys on it which were not in the best condition and had rather high milage for its year, I asked to see the copper one. I was told it would be round the back being cleaned ready for sale, as we wandered round the back the salesman said he could not see it and did not know where they would have put it so he said "come into the showroom just now and I shall find out where it is."
As we walked through the side door, there she was, all freshly valeted sitting proud front and center in the showroom. It was one year old, completely standard with 12571 miles on the clock, with almost the first look I was hooked and had fallen in love with it. It looked so much classier in copper than it did in red, this was the one for me! I asked if I could test drive her and was told to come back the next day and it would be sitting outside ready for me to take for a spin, I could not wait for tomorrow to come.
