Crop circle sightings have been at the bottom of the list of any UFO related phenonmena in New York State as a whole. Since 1980, the number reported have been limited to a literal handful-unlike many more UFO sightings reported in comparison every year.

Having had 2 UFO sightings-the latter resulting in a missing time and possible contact experienceand my concentration and overall knowledge from there was only in the area of the actual UFO itself- perspective. I was unprepared literally in all respects-for the events that would quickly unfold on two hot, humid days in July and later, in October of 1991.

Having just recently decided to get back into the field of UFOlogy-after many years of deliberately staying away and uniformed on the subject-due to frustrations encountered on getting answers to my own close encounter/missing time experience from the whole subject-I was glad that the day I got a call from an old friend at our local newspaper-about a local farmer reporting a crop circle on his land-that I had at least re-established some contacts in the UFO field who I could contact for investigative assistance.

I immediately made arrangements to go over-with some investigators-however amateur-they had the incentive and interest and knowledge enough to know whom to contact-and what to at least kick start an investigation by cordoning off the circle site.

The farmer, Lee Roberts who reported the circle, was a well known and respected farmer-who also owned the local farmers market on Rte. 31, Maple Ridge Rd., near his vast acres of property and farming/field area in Medina. Todd Roberts, his son, actually was out on the morning of July 5th, combining the field, located on the corner of Salt Works Rd., and Maple Ridge Rd. When he came upon the 20 ft. symmetrical circle-, about south of Salt Works and Maple Ridge Rd.,(31). Roberts said he knew this was something in all his years of farming that hed never seen before.

As Todd described it later to a local newspaper reporter, All the wheat inside the circle was flattened tight to the ground, overlapping and lying in every direction.
The flat wheat and circle area that was seen by me and other investigators, were still noticeable, even though the wheat around it had been cut.

Surprisingly,  & to my chagrin, this crop circle happened July 5th, the date of his finally reporting it-the day I was there was July 22yet the mysterious Crop Circle was itself, still well preserved.

Lee and Todd Roberts were reluctant to at first report the circle.  They had viewed similar stories recently on T.V., but was quite skeptical on the possibility of any UFO activity causing the one they came upon. Todd Roberts explained he had been in the field area April 14th-and there was no sign of a circle. He noted it was the first time hed ever seen anything like this first hand.

Finally, at the urging of his sons, he did call the local newspaper, which went over and took a photo and took his story-which appeared the next day. Time that had lapsed between his sighting and the going public had by then been 18 days. Fortunately, it was an unusually dry summer, no rain, high wind, so, the circle had remained well intact and undisturbed.
