UNISEX PHILOSOPHIES

Nancy Hanna is an elder in the UC who epitomizes the mixed messages of leaders that has immobilized the UC. In the UNews (March 2000) she praised John Gray's books whose "viewpoint that men and women are very different kinds of beings is not news to Unificationists, but is a controversial idea for Westerners in the thralls of unisex philosophies."  Decades ago Nancy wrote in a church magazine called Blessing Quarterly a glowing review of Helen Andelin's book and ended sabotaging herself by saying Helen was wrong about women working.  Nancy gave the standard UT line that women should dominate men by day and be dominated by night. They can work with men and lead them in the workplace and then go home and have their husband be the head of the house. Women can be head of the office over men, but not at home. Where is the logic in this? Women working is the essence of "unisexism." Nancy speaks with a forked tongue. Women cannot be in subject position over men and also always object to her husband. She teaches that women can mix feminism (unisexism) and traditionalism (husband is head of the home) -- a strange disconnect of feminism by day and patriarchy at night. This is the essence of the problem of the UC. It mixes God and Satan's definition of sexual roles.

UNITING WITH ABEL

Cromwell gives the standard spiritual advice that followers of Sun Myung Moon are supposed to follow the leadership in his movement. Leaders are called Abels and Central Figures. He writes, "uniting with an Abel figure, or central figure, despite the fallen tendency to reject Abel, and winning Cain through love, in this way developing true parental heart through raising spiritual children." Blind obedience was pushed to the limit in the 1970s when everyone was young and suffering through the endless Stalin like 5 year plans that produced miraculous wheat harvests for Big Brother central figures. When everyone got married in the 1980s that began to fade.

VERY FEW MEMBERS NOW

In the 1990s there were very few members left and most of them are still nursing their wounds for the nightmare MFT years of the gulag MFT centers they lived in years before. Fundraising was supposed, they said, to make members incredibly skilled at earning money. The result is that there are a handful of old timers who sound like those on documentaries of the Soviet Union. Have you ever seen those few sad souls who look back on the terrible years of Stalin's 1930s industrial 5 year plans and remember them fondly as an exciting time -- a time they most felt alive and challenged? These comrades never talk about all the mass graves. There are a bunch of old timer Unificationists that will talk this way when they are interviewed in documentaries 30 years from now and they are 70 or 80 years old. I can hear their glowing stories now of sacrifice and growth on the MFT.

The truth is that there are always people like that who simply haven't got a clue to what is going on. The truth is that the leadership of the UC has been monumentally inept. They are not the Stalins that Hassan makes them out to be, but the truth hurts. Hassan looks back on the years he fundraised and gets sick to his stomach as most do. The hardliner Unificationists just can't get it. The Abels of the UC keep spinning their wheels and like some nightmare Ground Hog Day movie or the Greek myth of Sisyphus who relentlessly rolled the rock up the hill and then was heartbroken to see it keep falling back. The UC is like some hamster in a wheel -- furiously working and going absolutely nowhere.

Fundamentalist Abels and Central Figures like Cromwell and Hanna will probably say that I am too critical. I'm not seeing things as half-full and am filled with resentment and arrogance. I should find some Abel and kiss butt. I am not patient. In other words, I am the opposite of love in First Corinthians 13. Making wholesale criticism is not what a good soldier does. We are an army, not a family, and we need to salute any officer that walks by and rarely question any orders. These people are dinosaurs. True managers do not treat people like old-style managers did. There has been a revolution in management that the UC has missed.

The truth hurts. The truth is that there are no good leaders in the UC. Even Father needs to be criticized for encouraging women to be compete with and dominate men like he had Josette Shiner do at the Washington Times. She should have stayed home, adopted 10 more kids, and then counseled other women to do the same as Titus 2:3-5 tells women to do. Women are supposed to be "architects of intimacy" as Brenda Hunter writes. They are not supposed to be architects of the Brooklyn Bridge. That is a man's job.

Restoration of Cain and Abel begins with women not acting like Cain and killing men's spirits in the workplace. Until leaders in the UC like Nancy Hanna give God-centered leadership they should be avoided like one avoids a toxic waste dump. The poison that Nancy Hanna has made the UC drink has almost killed it. She lulls you into thinking she is smart and good by saying that she is against unisexism in her review of a book on children. The best book on raising children is Helen Andelin's The Art of Raising Children. Andelin teaches the exact opposite of Hanna -- all women are supposed to stay home and pity women like Josette Shiner who Hanna and the elders of the UC point to as the epitome of a great woman. The last thing God wants is for Josette or any woman is to be a high-level executive over many men. Hanna criticizes Helen Andelin for being so narrow. Mrs. Hanna would say that God is big and there are many roads to heaven and we cannot be so absolute in our thinking. Wrong. God is not only into the "big." He is just as interested in the "small" -- the mustard seed.

I spent many years listening and doing as Abels like Hanna and Cromwell teach. The result was disastrous for me, my wife, my children, my church. When I made God my Abel and put my thinking cap on, I discovered the heartbreaking truth that the UC organization is in a Louisiana swamp and the leadership thinks they are at the Hilton. They are the arrogant ones who dished out wholesale criticism to thousands of good-hearted young men and women who gave blood, sweat and tears in an attempt to mold themselves into the dutiful slave-like follower that could not have any feelings of rebellious fallen nature. The truth is that Nancy Hanna is the rebellious one. To push for women working is to be a communist/ feminist. The very core of God's ideology -- the Divine Principle -- should teach the simple, beautiful law of love and life that men and women are not interchangeable. Men are subjects -- Yang. Women are objects -- Yin. Opposites attract. At no time does a plus become a minus. It always stays a minus. Men do not become Yin. There are absolute roles and women like Helen Andelin, Mary Pride and many more teach correct Biblical principles. UC leaders reject the Biblical family and think they have gone to infinity and beyond. They have only gone to the pit of Hell -- the dark side of feminism with Abels like Friedan. Hanna should have listened to her Abel, Helen Andelin, and then turned around and taught sisters to do the same. She did the opposite and killed the UC.

I respect Nancy and those who came before me for the sincere efforts they have made. I just wish they would have respected the Central Figures who came before them and wrote wonderful books on how to have happy and prosperous marriages and families. Taking a little out of true role models like Helen Andelin is not enough. It is arrogance for Nancy to think she is above Helen because she knows the DP. Nancy hasn't got a clue to the depth of the DP. If she did, she would have put Helen down for saying women are not to spiritually castrate men. Sadly, sisters have taken Nancy's advice and crushed men's spirits.

IDEAL WORLD

The argument of leaders that those who do not know the Principle cannot offer very much is stupid arrogance. Their argument goes something like this -- "If the whole world accepted the Andelin's values of the Biblical family we still would not have the Kingdom of Heaven." I agree. But what has that got to do with what I'm saying? I'm not saying that the Andelin's or anybody out there is the ultimate total truth. What I am saying is that the UC has a character flaw -- a missing link in the chain -- a weakness in its foundation. It has missed that God wanted the UC to not take just the idea out of Helen's best-seller that the man is subject in the home, but that men are the only subjects in society. By rejecting the part of women not competing with men, the UC has raised the likes of Josette Shiner in the UC and Margaret Thatcher outside the UC as the epitome of a great role model. Josette and Margaret are freaks. They are mutants, not the ideal that women should strive for.

FATHER SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY

Father has to take some of the responsibility for this. He says he never has to say he's sorry and only others are to blame, but I don't believe it. Even if he believes this and thinks that the ends justify the means, he is wrong. It sure didn't work in his family and church. Name dropping at fancy hotel speeches is not good enough. The UC needs to have superior families to the Andelins. How can Helen Andelin join if Nancy teaches less than what Helen teaches?

HELEN VS. NANCY

I have talked on the phone and exchanged letters with both Helen and Nancy. I had to decide who was going to be my Abel. Who was I going to let be my teacher, mentor and role model. What Helen wrote rang in my heart. What Nancy wrote and told me made me feel pity for her and feel unspeakable pain for the hurt she and elders have done by not mentoring sisters to be religious but to embrace the humanistic feminism of Satanic Central Figures like Friedan. Communism fell in 70 years and I hope that the communist/feminist teachings of Hanna and company will fall in the UC in 70 years. I am encouraging my children and I encourage you, Dear Reader, to stand up to the feminist leaders in the UC.

DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED FOR EVEN ONE SECOND

Do not be intimidated by them. Feel sorry for them. Pray for them. Get the message out. Feel confident in knowing that absolute values give peace and the relative values of UC leaders have stopped growth. Do not compromise. Do not let them tell you how there is great stuff in the Communist Manifesto. Don't let them seduce you with their wishy-washy value system. Be strong. Be bold. Be nice, but don't back down and compromise absolute sexual roles. Choose the Andelins as your Abel, not the feminist leaders of the UC. They are rebellious Cains even though they know the fall and many things in the Principle. Even though the Andelins do not know the revelations of Father, they are doing more to restore the world than anyone in the UC, even the 36 blessed couples. Because the 36 blessed couples and other so-called Abels in the UC do not know the meaning of the Three-Day Ceremony, all their excruciating hard work many of them did was in vain.
