| 2002 Work |
| Whilst Ged is still appearing on New Zealand television screens as DI Alex Cullen he actually finished up at The Bill back in April 2002 so this page is designed to keep you up-to-date with what our favourite actor is doing now. As always many, many, many thanks to Ged who has found the time to keep us informed - very few fans are this lucky and I know I certainly appreciate it! **************************** Holby City Ged recently had a guest role in a Holby City episode. The episode was called 'The Private Sector' and screened in the UK on Tuesday 3rd September, 2002. I'm still awaiting my tape from wonderful friends in the UK but screencaps provided by the very kind and talented Mike B are on the new Holby City page. If you saw it and have a comment I'd be happy to add it - e-mail me. Anyway, here's what Ged had to say about it: "I've got a role in an episode of Holby, playing a community psychiatric nurse. I think it's quite a nice guest role and I'll be filming it some time between 21st May and 9th June." Breadhead/The Guest In July 2002 Ged played the main role in a student's graduation short film, Breadhead, at the National Film and Television School. It was directed by Simon Overton and produced by Irena Taskovsky. It is currenly in post-production and should be completed by the end of the year. I'll try to keep you updated on any screenings. Follow the link for pictures and Ged's thoughts about the role. Told By An Idiot Ged has just got a really great theatre role with one of Britain's premiere physical theatre companies - Told By An Idiot. I've also just got a theatre job which will start rehearsing in mid-Sept for five weeks, then tour for five weeks until the end of November, then we re-rehearse in early January and play the Soho Theatre in London for three weeks. It's for a company I've longed to work with for ages called 'Told By An Idiot'. They are one of the top physical theatre companies in Britain and have a terrific reputation. Their work, as will be the case with this piece, is almost always devised by the cast working with the director (hence the lengthy rehearsal period). I can't wait to get started and you can't believe how excited I am about the prospect. It will be great to do something involving a real process and I will be working with several people - the director, one of the actresses, the musical director and movement director - who I know, love and have enormous respect for. Ged Simmons, 2002 Oh to be in the UK! For more information, including tour dates and venues go here. The Firework- Maker's Daughter Development Week - In December 2002 Ged was involved in the development week of this play with the Told By An Idiot theatre company. |
