When I began this project I thought it would be another "No-Brainer". I mean how hard could it be to mount a bumper? Well it is a little harder than first anticipated. First the instructions have no pictures describing the parts. The instructions said things like " Place the retaining bracket against the bumper mounting point". Uhhh what? Pictures would have been helpful. I bought the Bumper from 4wd.com and they shipped it out that day.
I began by removing the old bumper.
The old bumper is held onto the truck by three bolts through the bumper mounting bracket.
Before removing the bumper be sure to disconnect the vacume lines from the vacuum resevoir mounted on the bumper.
Well here is the Roja without the front bumper. So far this has been pretty easy. Any idiot could do this..........
After endless debate and trial and error it is our firm belief that this bracket fits behind the front area.
Look where the arrow points, and you can see the bolts mounting the bracket to the frame. See the bolts that go into the bracket that we slid behind the frame. Be careful of the bolt at the back. We stripped one hardly trying. Keep all these bolts loose.
While I was mounting the hardware, "Fez" was putting the lights together. Seriously they have you even put the weather stripping in the light. they couldn't even put the light bulb in...
The marking lights were then placed in the bumper. Plastic "doohickeys" pop into holes on the back side of the bumper. The light is then fit in place and the screws that go into the light to hold the lens on, screw into the "Doohickeys" and hold the light in place on the bumper.
