A LOOK AT SCOUTING...
Since 1910, Boy Scouts of America (BSA) has been shaping the lives of young boys. Scouting is a home and neighborhood-centered program that strives to help our boys become young men by meeting thier growing needs, such as:

1. Learning new physical skills: Through sports, games, wookworking, and other crafts, he improves his coordination in turn gaining a sense of self-worth and acceptance by his peers.

2. Learning to get along with his peers and the concept of "teamwork":  All kids need to form friendships with other children and learn how to not only give, but also receive. Cub Scouts teaches teamwork and the importance of the Cub Scout motto:
DO YOUR BEST!

3. Developing his mental processes and personal independence: These skills develop by reading, writing and calculating. He will get the chance to observe and experiment, which will teach him to rely on himself and become more independant.

4. Developing a conscience: Your son will begin to develop a sense of what is right and wrong, what is fair and unfair. He learns this by cooperating with other boys, being taught, examples of adults and thru positive reinforcement.*
