Things have been going well here.  Gavin has changed a lot in the past month.  He now has 5 teeth.  He can sit up on his own, he is crawling and wants to stand all day long (with the assistance of our coffee table).  He recognizes his name and understands some commands, such as "Up", which means raise your hands so Mommy can pick you up.

Aunt Stephanie paid us a visit in mid-June, which Gavin greatly enjoyed.  He loved having another playmate and someone to share the back seat with.  I will try to add some of the pictures we took to Gavin's page soon.  I already added the pictures Steph took.  Check them out!

As I type, Gavin is on my lap fussing to go outside.  It is supposed to be 75 degrees here today - Yahoo!!!  We've been getting a lot of rain lately, so we are all very happy to see the sun.  I will be adding more pictures of Gavin to his page shortly - I promise.  Stay tuned.

Where, oh where has time gone?  I can't believe it has been this long since I updated the website.  As you can guess, I have been very busy with the newest addition to our family - Gavin Nicholas Steiner.  Gavin was born on Thursday, November 6, 2003 at 4:00 p.m.  He was 9 pounds, 4 ounces and was 22 inches long.  He is growing quickly and does something new everyday to entertain and enchant us.  I just added a page for Gavin, although there is not much there yet.  I will try to add pictures as often as possible.

Well, look who finally decided to update their website.  Time sure has been flying around here!  Baby Steiner is due for arrival on November 6th, so Mike and I are definitely getting into that nesting mode, trying to make sure we have everything ready.

We started our childbirth classes last Sunday and have 3 more weeks.  I was hoping to take an Infant CPR class this month, but the hospital cancelled it, so we'll have to see if I can make it to the October class (only 2 weeks before my due date).

I set up a page for the baby, but it still needs a lot of work - and some pictures.

I finally got around to adding some pictures to both the
Home and Garden Photo Page and the regular Photo Page.  Please be patient.  There are a lot of pictures, so it might take a while to load.  The Photo Page pictures are from Stephen's high school graduation ceremony last night.  The Home and Garden pictures are of some of the few plants that have bloomed so far this year.  Hopefully, more things will bloom and I will have more to add.

Well, time goes by pretty quick, doesn't it?  Things have been pretty crazy for us lately.  I am currently home on medical leave recouperating from my recent surgery.
Click here for the full story.  Not to worry, though, the baby is fine, I don't have cancer and the doctor says I am healing very quickly.

Most of my plants (started from seed) are now in the ground, along with the many plants Dad and Edgar bought for us for our wedding anniversary.  I still have a few items in the greenhouse and in the basement, although I am not sure that I will have room for everything.  Earlier today, I just took a few more pictures of what is in bloom.  Once Mike gets them uploaded from the camera, I will add them to the
home and garden photo page.

Mike and his cousin, Eric, will be going to see
Marilyn Manson in August.  I just ordered the tickets last week.  I would have loved to go, but I'm not sure it would be a good ideas for a 6-month pregnant woman to be at the Electric Factory on a crazy night like that.  Oh, well.  Maybe next time.

Finally, Spring has sprung!
As most of you already know, we are expecting a new addition to the family sometime around the beginning of November. We are very excited, and can't wait for the big day!
And now that Spring has arrived, Val is very busy with her seeds and flowers for the gardens. And don't worry, we will add lots of pictures once they bloom.
As for me....I've been working on our small pond and just recently added about 12 small goldfish to it. They seem happy for now. (Let's just hope these make it through next winter, unlike our last ones!)
We'll be updating the  other pages within our site , so check back often and look around.

A NEW page from Mike was added today!
The iBook story.

Well, today the East Coast is getting hammered by snow.  It started around 10:00 a.m. and is expected to keep going through sometime tomorrow - leaving us with up to 2 feet of snow.  We've been getting a lot of snow this year - much more then we've had in several years.  Luckily I have off tomorrow for President's Day, so I don't have to worry about trying to get to work - although if we do get 2 feet, I don't think my work would be open anyway.

I figured I would force myself to make a few updates to our site.  Mike and I...Uh, be right back, we need to go shovel for a bit.  It's starting to get dark and I guess we will have less work to do if we get rid of some of the snow now...

As I was saying, Mike and I have both updated, somewhat recently, our respective pages, so you can look them over if you haven't checked them out lately.

For Valentine's Day, we went to
On the Border, a new Mexican restaurant they put in near the Neshaminy Mall.  We went on Thursday night, to avoid the rush and because they were predicting snow that night, too.  The food was good, but I have to admit that I still prefer Don Pablo's.  Mike got me some flowers and a couple of sweet cards.  We were thinking of going to the Burpee store this weekend, but the weather did that idea in.  We've never been to their store, although they aren't far away - only in Warminster.

I think it's safe to say that everyone in this area is more than ready for spring to come.  I have started making my purchases for my gardens.  Check out the
Home and Garden page for more info.

Today is our last day of peace and relaxation before returning to the working world.  Mike and I had a great holiday and enjoyed having a week and a half off from work, especially since we didn't take a vacation this summer.  We hope that everyone had a good holiday and has the best of luck in the new year.

We spent Christmas Eve with Mike's mother, her boyfriend John, Grandmom, Pop-pop, Uncle Eddie, Chris and Kathy, Bryan and Stephen.  On Christmas Day, we went to Mike's grandparent's house for dinner and then went to my Dad's house to visit with Dad, Edgar and my sister, Stephanie, who was visiting from California. The next day we went to
Longwood Gardens.  We went in the late afternoon, so we had time to see everything in the conservatory and then the Christmas light show.  None of us had ever seen the light show before, so we had a good time, even though it was a little cold (and crowded).

(Check out the
Photo Gallery for a pictures we took over the holiday.)

Over the weekend, Mike and I took it pretty easy and Mike had time to play the PC games he got for Christmas, Spearhead (the Medal of Honor expansion pack) and 007: Nightfire.  We also went to see
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, which was great, as expected.

For New Year's, we went to our friends Sue and Shane's house.  They fed us a delicious dinner, as usual and the guys set off some fireworks.  Luckily, they didn't wake up Sammy, their 6 month old, who has, unfortunately, been sick over the holidays.

12/05/2002

Well, today turned out to be our first snow day of the year - complete with no work for Mike and I.  We haven't had snow like this in a long time.  The picture above was taken around 11:00 a.m. this morning and we have had at least another 2-3 inches since then.  It was just started to turn into rain when Mike and I came in from shoveling for the second time (around 6:00 p.m.).  I think overall the area was expected to get 8-10 inches.

As I said, luckily neither Mike or I had to go to work.  My office never opened this morning and Mike's bosses let them decide on their own whether or not to go out.  We took the Jeep out for a ride this afternoon and I sure wouldn't want to have tried to get around in that mess in anything other than a 4x4.

I added a few more pictures to the
Photo Gallery and to the Whiskers & Davey page.  Check them out!

Another busy month came and went...Mike had to work night work (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) for the two weeks leading up to Thanksgiving.  That was an adjustment for both us us - thank God that's over with.

Mike and I hosted Thanksgiving again this year.  Mom Sullo, Grandmom, Pop-Pop, Uncle Eddie, Chris, Kathy and Stephen were all here.  We got a 25 pound turkey, so there was plenty for everyone.  Everyone stuffed themselves so much, that we had to send dessert home with everyone because they were still full when they left.

We went shopping on Black Friday with our friends Mike and Aline.  We got a few good deals, although we didn't end up finding any Christmas gifts.  We got a few new Christmas decorations, including new lights for the Christmas tree that flash in five different patters.  We still have to finish the outside decorations this weekend.  Mike took some pictures, so hopefully I will get them uploaded to the
Photo Gallery page this week.  I set up a page for our Christmas Wish Lists, although I will have to check with Mike to make sure I haven't left anything important off.  :-)

We hope everyone is well.  We are really looking forward to seeing Stephanie this Christmas.  Mike and I both have that week off to relax and take it easy, as we did not take a vacation this year.

11/09/2002
Sorry we haven't made any updates lately.  We've been pretty busy.  Mike's brother, Chris, and his wife, Kathy, closed on their first home at the end of October, so we have been over there helping them clean up and settle in.  Their house is about the same size as ours and is located in Warminster, close to Street Road.

On the homefront...Mike has moved his office to the basement, so the "office" is now a guest bedroom of sorts.  The kitties enjoy his company down there and the video game sound effects are much quieter now.  :-)  We've been having a lot of soot coming out of the vent of the furnace, so we had it serviced and this weekend had the chimney swept.  It apparently was packed full of soot, which was causing it to back up.  Luckily at this point we don't need a new lining installed, like our neighbors just had to do a few weeks ago.

In the weather...Winter is certainly on it's way.  Although the weather this weekend is unseasonable warm, we have had several frosty mornings in the past few weeks and the most of my flowers have finally kicked the bucket.  The maples out back have gorgeous red and orange leaves, which have unfortunately begun to fall.  Raking season is now upon us, I guess.

Coming soon...Mike and I will be hosting Thanksgiving again this year.  I think it will go a lot smoother this year with our new, larger dining room table.  This weekend I went shopping and got a great deal on a set of flatware (serve for 8) for $9 - what a deal!  I also splurged and got a set of serving bowls and a matching platter for the turkey.

Steph is going to be coming out for Christmas and staying at Dad and Edgar's.  Mike and I should both have off between Christmas and New Years, so hopefully we'll have a lot of time to visit with her.

Mike and I returned to work today after taking yesterday off to recover from the concert on Tuesday night.  Mike, Rick and Stephan picked me up from work on Tuesday and we drove down to the Spectrum from there.  We got down there and in line by about 5:30.  It was pretty cold waiting for the doors to open, but it paid off because we got pretty close to the stage.

The concert was great, although I have to say that the Spectrum is just not the best venue.  I much prefer going to shows at the Electric Factory, TLA, etc.  I think the sound is better and the crowd is more fun.

Trust Company was not that well received.  The Spectrum didn't really fill up until after they were done their set and the singer's mic wasn't loud enough.  Maybe they have been touring long enough with Korn to know that their music is not exactly compatible.  It's heavy, it just don't have the same type of powerful, angst filled lyrics (as far as I could tell, anyway).

Disturbed was awesome!  They sounded great and you could tell the crowd really dug them.  Even the people that didn't know their music were liking their sound.  The mosh pit really kicked in when they were on - and the crowd surfing.

Korn played a great set with a good variety of their best songs.  They had a huge video screen which was mixing pre-recorded video and live footage.  It was pretty cool, especially for those poor people with crappy seats in the 300's who probably couldn't see anything.

We all had a great time, although we were all exhausted by the time we got home.  I guess we're getting a little old for this, but I don't plan on stopping anytime soon - it's too much fun!

Last night, Mike and I hosted our first SNAP meeting.  SNAP stands for Safe Neighborhoods Are Possible.  It's our street's neighborhood watch group, which was set up years ago by some of the neighbors that have been on the street for 20+ years.  We have meetings three times a year and a picnic in August.  It gives us a chance to catch up with the neighbors and hear all of the gossip.

10/04/2002
Last Saturday, Mike and I did our Fall / Halloween decorating.  We went to Reedman Farm and Nursery, on Galloway Road near the back of Philadelphia Park Race Track.  We got a bale of hay, a couple of mums and a whole bunch of pumpkins and gourds.  We like to go there every year.  The people that work there are really nice and knowledgable.  They have a great selection and great prices - besides we like to support small, family businesses when we can.

09/23/2002
We have added Desert Island Picklists for our favorite CDs and movies.  Check them out.  E-mail us your picks and we will add them to the list.

09/20/2002
Check out the newest addition to our website - Whiskers and Davey now have their own page.  I will have to add more pictures as I get time.  I will have to wade through the tons of pictures I have and pick out the really cute ones.

09/10/2002
Last night we stained our deck in a cedar tone.  I'll try to add a picture to the Photo Gallery soon, so you can see it.  We have added three fish and some water plants to our pond, courtesy of our neighbors,Tom and Christy.

We might be making a trip to Boston in November, as Steph will be up there for a conference.  Don't forget to check out Mike's Page and Val's Page for separate news updates.
