About Us
The TOLEDO, LAKE ERIE & WESTERN is an operating museum. At present, the train is powered by a 1948 ALCO switcher. Display cars used as needed include a 1916 and 1924 NYC and a 1930 Lackawanna electric commuter cars, Pullman standard coasches and assorted cabooses. On display are various types of equipment owned by TLE & W and private individuals. Our members will be happy to try to answer any questions you may have about any item on the property.
JOIN THE FUN! The Toledo, Lake Erie & Western Railway & Museum, Inc. is a volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation and operation of railroad equipment. We believe the golden era of American railroading is worthy of preservation for thsoe too young to remember it, for the reminiscence of those old enough to have experienced it, andfor the enjoyment of all those who are interested in it. We invite you and your family to join us as members. Railroad experience is not required.
