| Neverending Story |
| No matter what people say to me, I still think the original Neverending Story is the best. Based on the novel by Michael Ende, the Neverending Story is about a young boy named Bastian who becomes the saviour of Fantasia - the land of human imagination, and the adventures he experiences on the way. |
| The Beginning of the story... Bastian is a boy who loves to read. This is what gets him involved with the Neverending story. One morning on his way to school, Bastian encounters 3 bullies from his school. They chase him into an alleyway, where they trap him and tell him to give them his money - of which he has none. So as punishment, they put him in a large dumpster [conveniently filled with hay by the looks of it] and leave him. When Bastian gets back to the pathway, the bullies are there waiting for him, and another chase begins. Dodging into a shop and closing the door behind him, he manages to escape them, only to find that he has been hiding in a bookstore. The bookstore owner and Bastian have a conversation - something along the lines of |
| Koreander: Get out of here! I don't like kids! -=Bastian walks into the store past stacks of books to find Koreander sitting in an armchair reading a large book infront of him=- -=Koreander looks up at him=- Koreander: Did you hear me? The arcade is a few blocks down, be on your way please. Here we sell small rectangular objects-called books. They require a little more effort on your part and make no beebee-bee-beeps Bastian: I know books! I have 186 of them at home Koreander: Bah! Comic books! Bastian: No! I've read Wizard of Oz, Treasure Island, Last of the Mohicans, Lord of the Rings, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Tarzan - Koreander: Whoa, Who are you running away from? Bastian: erm...just some kids from school Koreander: Why? Bastian: They wanna throw me in the garbage. Koreander: Why dont you give them a punch in the nose? Bastian: uh......... -=Koreander goes back to reading the large book=- Bastian: [pointing]What's that book about? Koreander: [looks up at Bastian] Listen. Have you ever been Captain Nemo when the giant squid was attacking you? Bastian: Yes Koreander: Weren't you afraid? Bastian: But it's only a story! Koreander: That's what I'm talking about. The books you read, are safe. Bastian: And that one isn't? -= Phone rings=- Koreander: This book... Is not for you. [gets up and walks into the office to answer the phone - putting the book under a pile of newspapers] -=Bastian moves the papers and sees the cover for the first time - The Neverending Story - he takes the book and leaves a note saying "Don't worry, I'll return your book", and runs out of the store" |

| When Bastian gets to school, He peeps through the door window to find that he is late for a maths test. So he decides to hide out in the attic and read The Neverending Story. Getting comfortable on a dusty gym mat, he begins his journey into Fantasia.... |
