| HISTORICAL MILESTONES | |||||||||||||||||
| 1899 --- President Emilio Aguinaldo transferred the Cientifico-Literaria Universidad de Filipinas, the first Republican University in Asia, from Malolos to Tarlac, on June 6, 1899. On September 29, 1899, its first and last graduation exercise was held at the Tarlac Cathedral. The Honorable Emilio Aguinaldo, then the President of the Philippine Republic and the first and only President of this university, held his official functions at the Tarlac Provincial Building, which is presently the site of College of Computer Studies of TSU. It was also in this building where the initial trade courses were held in Academic Year 1906. | |||||||||||||||||
| 1902 --- On September 1, 1902, Mr. Frank Russell White (who was to become the 4th Director of Education) founded the Tarlac High School, the first public high school in the country. This is presently the Smith Hall of the TSU Main Campus, which presently houses the TSU Colleges of Arts and Social Sciences, Sciences, and Engineering.�� | |||||||||||||||||
| 1906 --- Opening of the Provincial Trade School where classes were first held in the Tarlac Provincial Building, which was unfortunately burned on March 19, 1906. | |||||||||||||||||
| 1909 --- Opening of the initial� provincial trade building for boys and girls trade by Gov. Jose Espinosa. | |||||||||||||||||

| 1902 - 1942, Tarlac Trade School was part of the Tarlac High School. The Head Teacher of the Trade School was Department Chairman of Vocational Education of T.H.S. | |||||||||||||||||
| 1942-1945 ---Tarlac Trade School was closed due to World War II | |||||||||||||||||
| 1946 --- Tarlac Trade School was re-opened, this time independent from Tarlac High School� though still run by the Tarlac provincial government. | |||||||||||||||||
| 1959 ---�� R.A. 2427 converted Tarlac Trade School to Tarlac School of Arts and Trades (TSAT). | |||||||||||||||||
| 1965 ---�� R.A. 4337 merged TSAT and the Tarlac National Agricultural School into the Tarlac College of Technology (TCT). | |||||||||||||||||
| 1974 ---�� P.D. 609 made TCT a separate college. | |||||||||||||||||
| 1989 --- R.A. 6764 converted TCT into the Tarlac State University����� | |||||||||||||||||
