I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, more often referred to as the "LDS Church" or "Mormon Church." To find out more about what we believe you can visit either the Church's official site or www.Mormon.org, a site set up specifically to answer questions for people that don't know about our church. I recommend either or both. :) My own personal testimony of this? I believe in Christ. I know that through him, after all we can do, we are saved by his grace through the great sacrifice of His atonement. I know that through Him we can talk to our Heavenly Father and I know that he answers our prayers. I'm thankful for the Holy Ghost and I'm so thankful to have its presence in my life. I bear testimony of the great power of prayer and fasting. It has blessed my life SO much. I know we have a living prophet on the earth today: Gordon B. Hinckley, and I know that he is the Lord's spokesman on the earth, to tell us what He would have us do. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that God and Jesus Christ appeared to him to restore the Church on the earth today. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and I love the scriptures so much. I bear testimony of the principal of tithing. Tithing blesses my life in so many ways. I'm thankful for the opportunities I have in the Gospel and for all the ways it blesses my life. I'm thankful for the awesome friends I've always had that have been such a strength in helping me live the Gospel and for a most incredible family. My parents know of all these truths and I'm so thankful to them for teaching me and letting me lean on their testimonies until I could get one of my own. I'm so thankful for the knowledge that I can be with them forever. I'm thankful for personal revelation and for the role it plays in my life right now. I'm SO thankful to have the blessing of the Church in my life; I know of its truthfulness and I don't know where I'd be without it. I love my Heavenly Father and my brother Jesus Christ and I know that if I live worthily now and I can live with them some day. I bear testimony of these truths and say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen. |
