| The Park New Britain Stadium is home to the Minnesota Twins Double A team, the Rock Cats. Its not a bad park, but theres really nothing interesting about it. What I found to be most memorable was a large panel on the faade containing the logos of all the Eastern League teams and their parent clubs. The mascot was also kind of neat. |
| That Day I saw the Rock Cats play the New Haven Ravens, the St. Louis Cardinals Eastern League affiliate, on the evening of August 2, 2001, after seeing an afternoon game in Pawtucket. Dee Snider, front man of the heavy metal band Twisted Sister and now a local radio personality, threw out the first pitch. New Haven scored first, on a home run in the 1st by Troy Farnsworth. New Britain came back with 2 in its half of the inning. That was all the Rock Cats would need, going on to win, 5-1. Pitcher Pete Fisher went 8 innings, giving up 1 earned run on 5 hits, walking 1 and striking out 8. |
