A Brief biography of C.T.P.S

Basically we were formed from the ashes of A band called Kinel. We decided to split up Kinel to try something different, and so a new untitled band was formed with me (andrew) playing guitar and singing, and Simon playing the drums. We needed a bassist and so I asked Mike if he knew of any, and said he would be interested. Which was very good as Mike happens to be a fantastic bassist. After a couple of practises (and writing a song in our first practise) Mike decided it would be wise to recruit a second guitarist, so Sam Brookes was brought in to play second guitar. Sam didn't particularly want to be in the band, and turned up to about two practises. We also tried to recruit Kris La-Borde to play keyboards, but Kris wasn't really interested in joining. The week before our first gig Mike decided he would play guitar and Sam would play bass, as Mike also happens to be a damn fine guitarist. It so happened that Sam really didn't want to be in the band, so Mike instead recruited Kathryn Youngman to play bass. That's just about how the band was formed, hopefully this is a permanent lineup, but we shall see.

Many people who have heard Kinel assume that we are some kind of comedy punk band...er...we're not. Mainly because Mike hates most of the stuff me and Simon likes, and we hate most of the stuff he likes. So a happy medium is trying to be found. Common influences as a band are probably the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Feeder and the Foo Fighters, which is basically who's covers we play, but when writing our own stuff we're going for sort of a ska/funk sort of rock thing. We're really not sure what we're doing to be honest, just gonna write some kick ass tunes really.
