| A brief description of my personality: I'm an intelligent, fun, honest, outgoing, adventurous, organized, philosophical, nice, guy with a good sense of humor. I love to travel, I love to learn, and I learn best by experience, so I'm always eager to try new things. I eat healthy and try to stay fit, value honesty, enjoy the outdoors, and aspire to build a strong career, so I hope to find someone with similar concerns and interests. I graduated from Central Connecticut State University in Mechanical Engineering in 2001 and intend to continue my education through and beyond a Master's Degree. I went to school part-time while working until my senior year, and graduated this year at age 29. I live in Bristol, Connecticut (northeast edge - near Farmington). For more details on me, please see my home page. My Stats DOB: October 22, 1971 Height: 6 ft Weight: 180 lb Body Style: Relatively fit Residence: Milford, CT (by the beach) Race/Ethnicity: White (Irish, Swedish, Scottish, Polish, Czechoslovakian) Religion: I do not believe in any particular organized religion but I was raised catholic Marital Status: Single Siblings: I have one brother (11 months younger) who lives in Bristol and five stepsisters. Has Children: No Wants Children: Yes (but not for a few years) Drinking: Drink Occasionally Smoking: Don't Smoke Interests: Traveling, Snowboarding, Camping, Hiking, Swimming, Running, Scuba Diving, Skydiving, Hang Gliding, Theater, Concerts, Intellectual Conversations, Trying New Things, etc. Education: AA, AS, BS in Engineering, and will continue Income: Prefer not to say My occupation and how I feel about it: Please see my resume. My favorite songs, musicians, actors, movies, books or authors: Music: I can listen to anything with a real band (no rap!) - U2, Tool, Fishbone, Live, DMB, Godsmack, Nirvana, Elvis Costello, REM, Rusted Root, Chili Peppers, Tom Petty, James Taylor, Smashing Pumpkins, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Enya, Clannad, Tracy Chapman. Modern and Classic Rock, some Jazz, Classical, and Blues also. Some newer bands with potential: Puddle of Mudd, Stained, Fuel, Eve 6, Lifehouse, Matchbox 20, etc. Actor: Nicolas Cage Movies: I love "Swingers" and all five movies by Kevin Smith, but I like lots of different kinds of movies including, "Back to the Future," "The Waterboy," and "Forest Gump." Literature: I don't read much, but I have enjoyed "The Old Man and the Sea," "Nine Stories," "Oedipus" and "Cannery Row." My favorite color: Green My favorite food: I'm not sure. I eat anything I think is good for me - nothing fried or high in fat or salt. When I eat out, I usually order seafood (or prime rib if I'm at a banquet ~ yes, there's fat, but I don't have it often). At home, I have a lot of pasta because it's quick & easy. My favorite place in the world: I have not yet seen enough to name my favorite place in the world. I was born in Bangor, Maine, but at six weeks old, we moved to Connecticut where I've lived ever since. I currently live in Bristol, but near Tunxis in Farmington. I rent an "in-law" apartment in a nice neighborhood on the outskirts of town. Mine is the only apartment in the area because it was built before the zoning restrictions changed. The rent is affordable and I have been friends with my landlady and her family since before I lived here. I try to travel often and I always have a blast when I do. I've spent time in every state in New England and driven as far south as South Carolina. I've also visited most of New York State, New Orleans, most of northern California, Nevada, Seattle, Montreal, Mt. Tremblant (Canada), Sicily, and Rome. There is still an endless list of places to see and I can't wait for my next excursion. I eventually plan to relocate outside of Connecticut, preferably somewhere in the Mid-Atlantic States or California. If I knew then what you know now, what I would have done differently: Everything! If I had to say one thing, I would have been a better high school student and gone to Virginia Tech on a full scholarship after graduation. What I like most about myself and what I would change if I could: I like most about myself my intellect and ability to reason. If I could change anything, I would eliminate the problem that causes pain in my right shoulder when I lift weights. What is the meaning of life? Anything is possible - it's just a matter of figuring out how to navigate the obstacles to achieve an objective (e.g. first figure out what you want to do, then figure out how to make it happen). My most under-appreciated quality: My diversity of interests and tastes. How I would create world peace: Move the human population to another planet. How close I am with my family: I am close with my brother; haven't spoken with my father since 1989; not too close with my mother, but we keep in touch; I usually only see other/distant family for special occasions. I usually spend holidays with my friend/landlady's family. If someone online asked me out on a date, how would I like to arrange it? I think we would both be most comfortable meeting out somewhere, each of us with a friend or two, and if that goes well, a second date on our own. The most important quality that I seek in others: Honesty and Integrity If I went on a date with someone, but there really wasn't a connection, how would I handle it? I would discuss it with her as soon as I knew, yet continue the date as friends and have a good time. It is far less cruel to let someone down easy as early as possible than to string him or her along, building up hope. It truly does the dumpee a disservice to prolong the inevitable. However, if my date, having read this, told me in advance that she would rather I take a different approach, I would certainly honor that instead. Random Comments: My first name is Christopher, but I prefer to go by my last name (Evans), middle name (Todd), or some obscure variation of my first (such as, Topher, Sto, Stopher, anything but Chris). I have a stepsister named Chris and to distinguish between us my family would call me Christopher and I became accustom to that for a while. My brother's girlfriend has always called me "Topher" because she knew two Christophers and called one Chris and the other Topher. One of the other students I hung out with on my Italy trip called me Stopher - I forget how that came to pass - and the short version of that is "Sto" which is cool. But most of my friends call me Evans. Type of relationship I am looking for: No plans - what happens, happens. If I fall in love, it could be long term. If I make a new friend, that would be fine too, as would anything in between. Please remember to attach a photo and brief bio when you e-mail as well as a link to your personal. Why am I single? I ask my self that question all the time. I put a personal online at the advice of a friend. He told me that he had a lot of success with his and talked me into it. I don't meet enough new people and I tend to be very selective, so I never really date. In school, I met a few (including my last girlfriend), but in the school of technology there were very few women around. My last girlfriend cheated on me with and left me for her exboyfriend. We only dated for 5 to 7 weeks, but the break up took two months. I had a hard time getting over that one and moving on. Besides that, I don't meet enough new people. In school, I met a few (including my ex), but in the school of technology, there were very few women around. My friends who have married off don't socialize as they used to, so they do not provide an avenue for bringing people together. In addition, I have no game in the bar scene, nor am I looking for a bargirl. Not that all the girls at the bar are bad catches; it's just too difficult to figure out which is which in that environment. Is there anything else you want to know about me? My Match What I'm looking for in a girl: That's tough to quantify. Kristy Swanson ~ ;-) kidding. I suppose I'm looking for someone fun, intelligent, open/honest, attractive, ambitious/goal oriented, and outgoing. A girl that I have things in common with and who is at about the same point in her life as I am - in college or a recent graduate who is about to start her professional life and/or continue on with graduate school. I'd like her to be someone my friends would like and who would like my friends (at least some of them). Physical attraction and some common interests must be a part of it, but most of my criteria are not absolutes; they are just a baseline. More simply, I just want what everyone does ~ someone who makes me happy - my last girlfriend did, but I have no idea why or how - it's just something that happens when the chemistry is right. I saw a show on the learning channel a couple of months ago about love and hormones. It turns out that love is a feeling produced by endorphin chemicals in the brain such as dopamine and nor epinephrine. So I guess the only thing that really matters is chemistry. That's why I don't really have a position on what I'm looking for. It's sometimes best to start as friends and see what happens. Age: 18 to 26 Height: 5'2" to 5'10" Weight: 120 lb or less (unless you're 5'10" in which would mean you're anorexic) Body Style: Fit/Healthy, Athletic, Petite, or Slim/Slender Residence: Anywhere Race/Ethnicity: White Religion: No Preference Marital Status: Single Has Children: No Wants Children: Yes (but not for a few years) Drinking: Drink Occasionally Smoking: Don't Smoke Education: College Student or Graduate Income: No Preference Occupation: No Preference Personality: Honest, Outgoing, Attractive, Intelligent, Confident (but not arrogant), Ambitious, good Sense of Humor, not a Slob Interests: Any/Lots (including Trying New Things) Other: Light on the Makeup (if any) - a NATURAL beauty So, tell me about you.
