St. Augustine |

In September of 2001 Perry and I finally got to St. Augustine. We had planned on going for part of our Honeymoon trip but once we arrived at the Navy Lodge in Mayport and found out it was on the beach... well we stayed at the Lodge and spent the days on the beach. It is amazing how far much the fort looks like the ones in Puerto Rico. Who knows how many more we will visit. I like forts and history. That must by why I am majoring in History. Lighthouses are cool too. |

There are 2 different forts in the St. Augustine area. The one in St. Augustine and the other is south of there. We went to both places and the pictures here are a mix of the 2 forts and the lighthouse. (above: Fort Matanza. Below: Fort at St. Augustine. right: St. Augustine Lighthouse.) |

The picture to the right is by far may favorite picture of this trip. It was taken on the grounds where the Fountain of Youth is located. Just a word of advice, if you ever go there, when they offer you the water, say "No Thank You." It is gross sulfur smelling water. |

To the left is a picture of Perry at the top of the lighthouse. It was sprinkling by the time we got to the top but I needed a rest before heading back down. The view was great from up there. |
