| Arequipa, Peru Arequipa Peru is a wonderful city where we have friends. We went to visit them and their church over Christmas 2001. We had the awesome privilege to work with them in some of their ministries. Every year at Christmas time, they collect clothing and take them to what they call "Pueblos Jovenes", which means young town. These are parts of the city that are newly developing. |

| The mountain you see above, and the one to the left are both volcanos. The one above is a virgin valcano named Misti, and the one to the left is CheChani and it has at some time in the past erupted. When you look at CheChani you can see that it looks like a crater in the center. When a volcano erupts the lava and gasses leave the volcano and the sides collaps. CheChani must have at one time looked like Misti. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| For Christmas our friends had gotten their children new bicycles. We then went with them as their children blessed other children with the old bikes. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| On this trip Perry had his first opportunity to share with a large group of people. I think it made it easier that the audience was for the most part under the age of 15. The clowns did a few jokes with him. He did a great job. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Most of the native women we saw were wearing hats of this type. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
