Biography

Born on the 7th of December, 1966; Christopher Thomas Howell, or commonly known as C. Thomas Howell, is a natural actor with remarkable talent. With an infinite list of filmography in all different types (acting, writing and directing), Howell has definitely made his mark on the world.

Christopher had an early introduction to show business. At the tender age of four, he made his debut as a keen actor on television series' "The Little People". Although quite hard to believe, he never had much of an interest in acting, but he did indeed have a passion for pursuing the rodeo circuit. Howell travelled extensively with a rodeo, and was named the California Junior Rodeo Association’s All Around Junior Boy’s Champion for 1980 and 1981.

Luckily for us, he decided to go back to show business, which then won him a regular role on television series' "Two Marriages". Following this role, he was cast in the film, "E.T. - Extra Terrestrial", before scoring himself a role in the action movie, "The Outsiders", as Ponyboy Curtis. The film, originally written as a book, focused on the streets of Tulsa, USA and its gang violence. "The Outsiders" skyrocketed C. Thomas Howell to fame as he played the role of tough, yet sensitive Ponyboy Curtis. While playing this role, Howell was lucky enough to score the role alongside current Hollywood stars' Tom Cruise (Mission Impossible 1 & 2) , Rob Lowe (TV- The West Wing) and Matt Dillion (There's Something About Mary).

In the next fifteen years or so, he scored a never-ending list of roles. These included the thriller, "The Hitcher", "Soul Man", "Grandview USA", "Red Dawn", "A Tiger's Tale", "Kid", "Return of The Musketeers", "Side Out", "That Night", "Acting On Impulse", "Payback", "Dangerous Indiscretion", "Suspect Device" and "Last Lives". In 1986 C. Thomas Howell was listed as one of twelve "Promising New Actors of 1986" in John Willis' Screen World, Vol. 38, when he had been at only 20 years of age.

In  the 1990's, CT continued to have an impact on the world with his exhilarating performances in Side Out, Kid, That Night, Breaking the Rules, Suspect Device, Shameless, Sleeping Dogs, and Fatal Affair. Besides all his many roles on the big screen, he still had time to star in TV series such as "Kindred: The Embraced", as well the critically acclaimed mini-series "Gettysburg".

C. Thomas Howell has seemed to have proved to the world that he is a man of all abilities. However, his talents don't stop there. Christopger had directed the films The Big Fall, Pure Danger, and Hourglass. In addition, he co-wrote Hourglass with longtime friend Darren Dalton.

Although clearing having much luck with acting, he has been married twice, to former co-stars' Lori Loughlin ("Secret Admirer") and Rae Dawn Chong ("Soul Man"). Fortunately, he is now married to Sylvia, his third wife, with whom he shares a daughter named Isabelle.

Currently residing in Los Angeles, California (USA) with his wife and three children, his most recent films include, "The Prince and the Surfer", "Enemy Action", and the award winning independent film, "The Glass Jar".
