CTCA TIPS: March 2009

MARCH MEETING

Will be held Thursday, March 5th @ 7:00 pm at Heather Kenney’s house, 2721 Beacon Dr.

NEW FAMILIES

Where are you????  We take great pride in our wonderful community association and need you now to keep this organization active. Come join us for our sociable monthly meeting and get to know your neighbors. If you cannot join us, then volunteer to help with an event. My intention is to compile a list of names that we can call on for help. If you could possibly give some of your time, then please email Bev Piscitelli, [email protected] so that I could add your name to our call list.  Since there are close to 400 families in our amiable community, I am optimistic that there are some of you out there willing to give us a helping hand. Don't be shy. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. We look forward to meeting or hearing from you.

Dear Friends of CTCA,

First of all, I would like to thank you for the generous contributions which I used to help supply the under privileged in Jamaica. The local workers and infirmary residents greatly appreciated them even more. The experience was truly an eye opener and their standard of living is much different than what we are accustomed to. Whether it was the patients at the infirmary who live each day thankful to still be here or the locals who live off of nothing but the land, it was amazing to see how they find peace and happiness in every day life. The field trips were so much fun and further allowed us to soak in the culture. Outside of the humanitarian aspect of our trip the marine biology study and fun activities were a blast. Over the week we accumulated over 90 organisms which we had to learn and memorize for an exam. The process included snorkels twice a day, organism hunts, and grueling nights of study until the wee hours of the morning. Each day was action packed and extremely long, however we managed to get through and have a lot of fun during the process. Thanks again for the donations, my trip was unforgettable and I would recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity to participate in the future.
