Section IV

At least two months prior to the annual meeting the Board of Directors shall appoint a nominating committee of three members, one member from the Board and two from the Society at large.-

Section V

Board members are expected to attend at least half of the Board meetings. The President is empowered to request the resignation of any Board member failing to meet this requirement.

Section VI

Vacancies: In the event of a resignation or incapacity to serve, the Board shall appoint a replacement to fill the unexpired term.


Article VII
Gifts and Contributions

Section I

All monetary donations to and deposits with the Society shall be entered in the books kept for this purpose and under the custody of the Treasurer.

Section II

The prescribed format for accepting gifts of property shall be as shown in addendum number 1. Upon request, the Burlington Historical Society will provide a receipt for donations. The receipt will provide a description of the donation, but in no instances will this imply or state any assessed value to the donation.

Article VIII
Special Funds

Monies given for designated purposes shall be kept separate from the general fund. These funds shall be in the custody of the Treasurer.

Article IX
Amendments

These Bylaws may be amended by a two-third vote of the voting members present at any regular meeting of the Society, providing that the proposed amendment has been presented in writing prior to the meeting.
