Article X Miscellaneous Section I Notwithstanding any other provisions of the articles of association or these bylaws, the Society shall not engage in any activities which are not permitted (1) by a nonprofit corporation exempt from federal corporate tax under section 501�(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or (2) by a nonprofit organization�s contributions which are to be deductible under Section 170�(2) of the Internal Revenue Code. Section II On dissolution of the Society, all of its net assets shall be paid over or transferred to one or more exempt organizations of the kind described in Internal Revenue Code 501�(3) The organization to receive such property shall be designated by the board of directors, preferably a Burlington organization with an interest in Burlington history. Section III The invalidity of any provision of these Bylaws shall not affect the other provisions hereof, and in such event these Bylaws shall be construed in all respects as if such invalid provisions were omitted.
