| Article III
Meetings Section I The annual meeting of the Burlington Historical Society shall be held in November, at such time and place as determined by the Board of Directors, for the purpose of electing officers and directors and to receive the annual report of the President, the annual Treasurer�s report and the presentation of the next year�s budget. Section II The Board of Directors shall determine the number of monthly meetings to be held each year. Section III Special meetings may be called by the President for such time and place as specified in the notice. The President shall call a special meeting at the written request of any three members of the Board. Section IV Notice of general membership meetings shall be given to the newspapers and be placed on the announcement board in the entrance to the Burlington Public Library. Section V Meetings of the Board of Directors shall be held at such time as determined by the Board. Section VI At any meeting of the Board of Directors a quorum shall consist of one plus half the number of the directors and officers presently sitting on the board. Article IV Elections Section I The nominating committee shall present a slate of officers and two directors whose terms have expired at the annual meeting. Election shall be by ballot at the annual meeting unless there is only one nominee for each office and then a voice vote is allowed. Click here to continue Bylaws |
