BUILD PROCESS
SUPERMAN?
Starting to bend the frame.
All bends are done in 2-D, holding 1 degree accuracy.
Now that the tubing is cut, it is time to mark out where to cut the fish-mouths.
Rough lenghts are cut for each frame member.
Fish-mouthing of the tubing on the mill, a simple 1 1/4" hole is used.
Toru puts the final touches on some of his parts.
Brian tack welds the newly placed tube.
Brian and Toru working on engine placement.
Middle section now being joined to bottom section.
Basic frame setup with mock up of wheels and driver. (Actual driver will be quite a bit smaller)
A little tight.
April 21st and both the engine and swing-arm are placed, 10 days into the build process.
Time to head home after another good day of construction.
Roll cage starting to take shape.
Front-end coming together.
From this... (April 11th) ...to this (May 13) in only 33 days.
End product should look exactly like this frame modeled and analized by Brian H.
After Mig welding the frame, it needed to be stress relieved.
The engine is now completley mounted with Toru's CNC engine mounts.
Another view of the engine with Toru's engine mounts and Dave's shifter assembly installed.
