Chemical Solutions by Anurag Katiyar
Distillation is the most common separation technique used worldwide in almost all of the chemical engineering processes. It consumes enormous amount of energy and sometimes can also contribute to more than 50% of plant operating costs. As technology is continuously emerging more and more components can be separated now and also it is increasingly becoming difficult to simulate distillation column to get components of higher purity. This webpage aims at demonstrating how problems of distillation columns can be simulated on a computer. It contains two applications in Examples sections which accepts users specifications and displays an optimized solution accordingly To effectively use contents of this webpage user is expected to know fundamentals of distillation columns, Liquid-vapour equilibria and basic distillaiton operations. However an overview of distillation basics is provided in next section |
